I am the author of the Amazon and Barnes and Noble best-selling book on referral selling, Creating a Million Dollar a Year Sales Income: Sales Success through Client Referrals (John Wiley and Sons, 2007), which is quickly becoming recognized as the authoritative work on referral selling; and the upcoming, SuperStar Selling: 12 Keys to Becoming a Sales SuperStar, to be released in late February, 2008.

My background includes over 28 years selling, building and managing top sales teams, and training and coaching sales professionals and managers. Although I’m very actively engaged in selling the services of McCord and Associates, an international sales training and consulting firm located in Houston, Texas, my background in sales has been predominately in the financial services industry, selling both direct to consumers and to banks, NASD firms, and insurance companies.

My articles and interviews are regularly featured in industry and business publications such as Forbes, Business Week, Enterprise Week, Selling Power, Advisor Today, Sales and Marketing Excellence, Senior Market Advisor, Employee Benefit Adviser, Hotel and Motel Management, Airport Business, The Dallas Morning News, The Boston Globe, and many others.

My company, McCord Training, works with individual salespeople, professionals, and small business owners, as well as major companies such as Microsoft, Wells Fargo, UBS, Century 21, and others in the areas of prospecting, referral selling, and personal marketing.
